Yoga Reimagined, LYT

Why I prefer and teach LYT yoga

I spent years doing various styles of yoga, bikram, ashtanga based vinyasa, restorative, you name it. Although I could do all the “pretty” poses and sweat my way through any 65-90 minute class. I would leave feeling depleted and with persistent low back pain and/or shoulder pain.

I tried LYT yoga by chance while on vacation and became hooked to physical therapist, Lara Heimann’s cueing and teaching. For the first time in years my core was actually REALLY activated and integrated making my practice light yet strong. I began craving her classes as they were the only way I could find that magical “lightness” again. When I finally decided to take the plunge and do Lara’s 200 hr YTT I was blown away by the amount of information I learned. How she formed her method, LYT (which stands for Lara’s Yoga Technique) based off her years as a physical therapist and each class takes you through the phases of human evolution. From the ground up! Nothing is random, every class is well thought out and put in a specific order so that you can re learn how to move using correct body parts and muscles. My classes are meant to help you leave your habits behind and re-map your brain so that you move more optimally. By breaking our everyday patterns of low firing body parts, ie glutes, core, etc we can become stronger and move better. By moving better we feel better, and by feeling better we impact all those around us in a more positive way. Who doesn’t want that?!
